Exploring the creative ecosystem: opportunities for multidimensional learning

SiHUB 2025 effectively simulated a microcosm of the creative ecosystem, allowing VLSC students direct access to 12 distinct domains through over 50 exhibition zones.

Access to Visual and Cultural Resources: Students were engaged in the analysis and deconstruction of design, art, and technology artifacts, with an emphasis on visual elements, materiality, and the underlying cultural context. This process is instrumental in stimulating critical thinking and fostering trend identification capabilities within the burgeoning field of Art-Tech.

Professional Integration and Networking: The event facilitated direct engagement and substantive interaction with industry’s value creators, including enterprises, startups, investors, artists, and designers. These dialogues furnish experiential knowledge (on-the-job knowledge) and strategic foresight that often extend beyond the scope of traditional academic materials.

From curricular knowledge to professional competence

The educational philosophy at VLSC consistently emphasizes the integration of academic rigor and practical relevance. The field expedition to SiHUB 2025 serves as a prime case study for implementing the Experiential Learning Model.

Elevating Industry Awareness: Students undertook a multi-sensory journey designed to unlock cognitive potential and enhance specialized competence. Specifically, the visit enabled learners to gain clear cognizance of the rapidly evolving landscape of Vietnam’s creative industry, while simultaneously fostering a profound appreciation for the cultural ethos embedded within the lines and materiality of the exhibited products. This represents a crucial step in transforming theoretical knowledge into a holistic understanding of the creative economic context.

Personal Positioning and Trajectory Planning: The event provided an environment for students to align with emerging trends and immerse themselves in the cultural narratives underpinning each artifact. Consequently, learners were able to concretely define their individual development trajectory through the acquisition of inspiration (creative capital) and expert insights. This experience functioned as a “professional testing ground,” where curricular knowledge was validated and augmented by invaluable practical expertise.
