In the context of an increasingly demanding labor market that requires comprehensive competencies, equipping students not only with solid professional knowledge but also with practical skills and adaptability has become an essential requirement in modern education. At Van Lang Sai Gon College (VLSC), the training orientation consistently emphasizes the integration of theory and practice, as well as the balance between professional expertise and essential skills, with the aim of enabling students to confidently enter a professional working environment.

With this objective, the “Skills Development Seminar for VLSC Students 2025” was organized as a significant academic and skills-based activity, contributing to students’ personal development, enhancing learning effectiveness, and building a solid foundation for their future career growth.

During the seminar, VLSC students had the opportunity to engage in and explore in depth two practical topics that closely align with current academic and workplace demands.
The first topic, “Self-Management – Overcoming Procrastination,” focused on helping students understand the nature of procrastination, one of the most common barriers that directly affects learning and work performance. Through an analysis of psychological factors, habitual behaviors, and ineffective work organization methods, students were guided in developing time management strategies suited to their individual capacities. The topic also emphasized the importance of self-discipline, planning skills, and maintaining learning motivation, thereby fostering a proactive, responsible, and resilient working mindset.

In addition, the topic “VLSC Students Proactively and Confidently Mastering AI in Learning and Research” provided a systematic perspective on the role of artificial intelligence in modern education. Students were equipped with foundational knowledge of AI, gaining a proper understanding of its capabilities, limitations, and principles for responsible use in academic learning and research. The content went beyond introducing tools, offering guidance on how to apply AI effectively, selectively, and ethically. This approach helps students optimize their learning processes, enhance critical thinking and independent research skills, and keep pace with the ongoing digital transformation across various fields.

Through the insights shared during the seminar, VLSC students were given the opportunity to reassess their personal competencies and clearly identify the skills that require further development and refinement.

This was not merely a short-term academic event, but also the starting point for cultivating a lifelong learning mindset, enabling students to proactively adapt to changes in their future academic and professional environments.

At VLSC, each skills-oriented activity is considered an integral part of the College’s training strategy that strengthens the connection between the institution, students, and society. Investing in skills development today serves as a solid foundation for students’ sustainable growth, enhanced competitiveness, and confident self-affirmation throughout their future career journeys.
