With a strategic focus on promoting the internationalization of education and expanding practical learning opportunities for students, Van Lang Saigon College (VLSC)—recognized as one of the top vocational colleges—continues to actively develop and strengthen partnerships with reputable international institutions. In 2025, VLSC students participated in the 2025 WON-MIND K-Culture Short-Term Camp Program, a two-week short-term academic program hosted by Wonkwang University of Health Sciences (South Korea), offering comprehensive academic and cultural exchange experiences within an international educational environment.

Hands-on Academic Experiences at Wonkwang University

As part of the program, VLSC students directly engaged in experiential classes across various specialized faculties at Wonkwang University of Health Sciences. The curriculum was designed with a strong emphasis on practice and application, enabling students to explore different fields of study in a vivid and hands-on manner.

Specifically, students participated in activities such as scalp analysis, personal color assessment, and hairstyling in the beauty field; explored modern technologies, processes, and equipment in dentistry; practiced handcrafted jewelry making; and joined cooking classes to learn about traditional Korean cuisine. Each activity not only provided foundational professional knowledge but also helped students gain deeper insights into real training environments, industry standards, and the practical applicability of each discipline.

Learning the Korean Language Through Culture and Daily Life

Alongside specialized academic sessions, VLSC students attended Korean language classes developed around cultural and lifestyle themes, including K-Food, K-Drama, K-Travel, K-Pop, and K-Beauty. The teaching approach combined classroom instruction with real-life experiences, helping students enhance their everyday communication skills while gaining a deeper understanding of Korean culture, lifestyle, and people.

In addition, the program included cultural visits and experiential tours to notable destinations such as Buan, the traditional village of Jeonju, and the capital city of Seoul. Through these activities, students broadened their perspectives, strengthened their adaptability, and developed cross-cultural communication skills—essential competencies for global citizens in an increasingly interconnected world.

International Learning Opportunities with Full Financial Support

A key highlight of the 2025 WON-MIND K-Culture Short-Term Camp Program was the comprehensive financial support provided to VLSC students. Participants received full sponsorship covering tuition fees, accommodation, transportation within South Korea, and all experiential activities throughout the program duration. This reflects VLSC’s strong commitment to enabling students to access high-quality international education without financial barriers, thereby encouraging a proactive learning mindset and early global integration.

Affirming an Education-Oriented Approach Based on Experience and Global Integration

Beyond valuable academic and cultural experiences, the program stands as clear evidence of Van Lang Saigon College’s commitment to building an open, practice-oriented learning environment rich in development opportunities for students. Each international learning journey serves as a solid foundation for VLSC students to strengthen their knowledge base, develop essential skills, build confidence, and prepare for global academic and professional environments.

Guided by the philosophy of “Real Learning – Real Practice,” VLSC continues to accompany students on their path of growth, gradually realizing its mission to develop a high-quality, dynamic, and globally integrated workforce.
